1  IN the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon [ So when Daniel see this vision he is still under Babylonian control, as opposed to Daniel 11 where the control has switched to Persia. ] Daniel had a dream and visions of his head upon his bed: then he wrote the dream, and told the sum of the matters.

2 Daniel spake and said, I saw in my vision by night, and, behold, the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea.

3 And four great beasts came up from the sea, [ The beasts each rise from the sea. Sea sometimes represents a large population. The sea “was a place of chaos, danger, and evil for the Hebrews.” So one could suggest that the beast will come forth in a time of chaos that sweeps the globe, bringing widespread political upheaval, censorship, dictatorial legalism, and terrorism. The sea is also a place were we have very little idea what is going on below the surface which is symbolic that there are things going on in these countries that are not obvious or aparent on the surface. The fact that there are 4 beasts may also be suggestive that this is the same dream as the 4 metals found in Belshazzars dream. The iron legs break apart all of the other kingdoms of the world as iron is stronger than the other metals as each metal represents a different kingdom. ] diverse one from another. [ They are not from the same place, and most likely do not say the same things. ]

4 The first was like a lion, [ Or the first kingdom. The lion and the eagle are considered the supreme beasts in their respective class. The Lion represents Babylonian empire ( Known today as Iraq). Old Testament Student Manual pg 304. ] and had eagle’s wings: [ The symbol of Babylon was winged Lion with a kings head on it. Confirming again that we are talking about Babylon or the same things as were talked about for the first kingdom in Nebuchadnezzar's dream in Daniel 2. ] I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, [ Or the power and control that it once had has been greatly diminished. ] and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man’s heart was given to it. [ Suggesting that it would have been subject to agency. ]

5 And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, [ Median-Persian Empire which rises after the Babylonian kingdom falls. see Old Testament Student Manual pg 304 (known as Iran today). This is discussed further in Daniel 8. ] and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh. [ Denotes the ferocity with which its dominion would be exerted. See Dan 8. ]

6 After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, [ Greek Empire - Syria-Lebanon today. Alexander the Great is unequaled in history in or on the battlefield. He has the notoriety to be the only general in recorded history to never loose a single battle. History suggests that when he went up against the Persian army that army had around a million soldiers, and He had only around 35,000 against that million. We do know from records that there were about 300,000 captured and about 300,000 killed and Alexander the Great lost only around 100 men. ] which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl; [ ] the beast had also four heads; [ Kingdoms that came forth by Alexander The Great. When Alexander the Great died at the young age of 30 his kingdom was broken up not to his children but to his 4 generals which is suggested here by the 4 heads. Daniel 11 suggests that these 4 kingdoms will reunite, which they do under Rome. ] and dominion was given to it.

7 After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, [ Kingdom. The Roman Empire and the forces of evil manifest through that empire. This applies to last days time line in representing a kingdom whose governance will be usurped by the conspiracy of the three eagle's heads. ] dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: [ Iron teeth the same metal as was found in the fourth kingdom in Nebuchadnezzar's dream Dan 2. ] it devoured and brake in pieces, [ Is this not the same thing as we were shown in Daniels dream? That they would crush the other kingdoms. ] and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns. [ The kingdoms into which afterword the Roman Empire was divided - Similar to the ten toes of the great image in Dan2 & Dan 7:23-24. ]

8  I considered the horns, [ Or the Ten horns which he has seen. ] and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, [ The stout horn also referred to as wormwood. ] before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: [ Once wormwood or the stout horn arrives he will take out the three most prestigious leaders of the ten horns and replace them with himself. The Stout Horn destroys the three foremost American leaders of this group of ten (the eagle heads) - the three heads of Ezra's Eagle. As noted previously, the account of the usurpation of America is not given in Daniel's vision, nor is the manner in which the Stout Horn eliminates the three foremost leaders. However, this information is included within the visions of Ezra. As such, Ezra's vision is a critical key to decipher and place into context the balance of Daniel's vision. ] and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things. [ We are told what he was speaking in Rev 13:2 That he was speaking bad things about God - blasphemy. Then we see more of what this beast was speaking in verse 23-. We can also look to Rev 13:5 to see when these things are to take place in the sequence of events. This stout horn begins speaking these things and he will do so for 42 months. (Rev 13:5) ]

[ The great vision of the meeting at Adam Ondi Ahman. Daniel 7:9-14 gives us the vision of the meeting; D&C 116 gives the location of the meeting; D&C 107:53-57 the type; D&C 27:5-18 provides a list of those who will attend and their qualifications to attend the meeting.Also see (Bruce R. McConkie Millennial Messiah pg 578-579 ) ( Progress of Man pg 481-482.)] 9 ¶ I beheld till the thrones [ Which is represented by the beasts in verses 1-8. ] were cast down, [ Sounds like a pretty dicy world, if there are no thrones then there is no power structure, most likely no real civilization. So things get really messy. All the power in the world will eventually run it's coarse and the the Savior will return to re-establish and redeem the earth. ] and the Ancient of days [ “Daniel in his seventh chapter speaks of the Ancient of Days; he means the oldest man, our Father Adam, Michael, he [who] will call his children together and hold a council with them to prepare them for the coming of the son of Man. He (Adam) is the father of the human family, and presides over the spirits of all men, and all that have had the keys must stand before him in this grand council. This may take place before some of us leave this stage of action. The son of Man stands before him, and there is given him glory and dominion. Adam delivers up his stewardship to Christ, that which was delivered to him as holding the keys of the universe, but retains his standing as head of the human family” (Joseph Smith, Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, 157). ] did sit, [ Which means to judge. ] whose garment was white as snow, [ Suggesting purity, obedience to God's laws, and one who has overcome. ] and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, [ Has great glory. ] and his wheels [ Elk 1:15 Which talks about 4 living creatures standing next to 4 wheels. This is taken from the entire vision that Ezkiel is seeing here. He sees 4 wheels descending they are not rolling like a wheel but are on their side like a frisbee. in the whirlwinds kind if like a frisbee with eyes all around the perimeter of the wheel. Out of these 4 wheels as he refers to them as there comes 4 living creature each with 4 faces. The face of a lion, the face of an ox, the face of a flying eagle, and the face of a man. These are the same symbols that represented each of the camps around the tabernacle of the congregration. Judah the lion Jesus is known as the lion of Judah, Ephram/Joseph the ox, Ruben was a flying eagle, Dan was a man. These wheels arrive on the scene about the time that Adam has the grand council on the earth. ] as burning fire.

10 A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: [ Or a hundred millions, that would make quite a large congregation. This is the way in Old Testament times they wrote of an infinite host. The faithful saints of all ages. ] the judgment was set, and the books were opened. [ The second coming is happening, Christ has appeared to Adam at Adam-ondi-Ahman. Church website says "before Christ's second coming in glory adam and his righteous posterity which include saints of all dispensations will again assemble in this valley to meet with the savior". Neil A Maxwell said in the october 1986 general conference "the valley of Adam-ondi-Ahman will ring again this time with the sounds of dispensational reunion as it glows with gathering those of Enoch's utterly unique city of one heart will greet those of the new zion with holy embraces and holy kisses amid the sound of sweet sobbing the hill shall tremble at the presence of the lost tribes and hearts as well as ice will melt as they come filled with songs of everlasting joy". Under Church history topics for Adam-ondi-Ahman footnote 2 you will find the following: "Joseph Smith later described a future meeting in which Adam who presides over the spirits of all men and the father of the human family would call his children together to prepare them for the coming of the Son of Man and deliver up his stewardship to Christ. discourse between june 26 and august 4th in 1839 reported by an unknown scribe you can see the full discourse in the JosephSmithPapers.org (D&C 72:3-5 All who have stewardships will have to render their accountability D&C 104:11-13) ]

11 I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame.

12 As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time. [ The wickness of these nations will continue after this meeting. ]

13 I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the son of man [ The hebrews wrote this way as to not offend God. Instead of directly saying God they say like unto the son of Man. (Moses 6:57 Which gives the reason why Christ has that title.) In addition; Daniel described his vision, but these are not the words of his angelic guide. What would have sparked Daniel to see a divine Being in the clouds of heaven, watch that Being come to the earth to speak with Michael and take the governance of the Kingdom of God and, as a result, say He is like the Son of Man. The way Daniel phrased his wording suggests that what he saw in his vision reminded him of another account that he was already familiar with, an account concerning the Son of Man. What account would have existed in Daniel’s day to which he could have compared his vision? Daniel would have most likely been aware of the experience of Enoch found in the Book of Enoch. (BoE 46:1-3) This vision of Enoch's would have occurred some 2,000 years earlier. Both visions include the Son of Man being in the presence of the Ancient of days, and both visions see the son of man as a Messianic figure to whom the father has given the kingdom. ] came with the clouds of heaven, [ He comes with glory. The Savior quotes this in Matthew and was accused of blasphemy. ] and came to the Ancient of days, [ And where does The Savior come to? Ancient of days or Adam - see D&C 138:38. ] and they brought him near before him. [ When this meeting happens we will know what is going to happen, that some time during this meeting we will ses Jesus Christ and hear him. ]

14 And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.

15 ¶ I Daniel was grieved in my spirit in the midst of my body, and the visions of my head troubled me.

16 I came near unto one of them that stood by, and asked him the truth of all this. So he told me, and made me know the interpretation of the things.

17 These great beasts, which are four, are four kings, which shall arise out of the earth.

18  But the saints of the most High shall take the kingdom, [ ] and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever. [ Who possess the kingdom? The saints. This last victory will be one of eternal significance. Right now we are preparing the kingdom for his return, but in the end he will give the kingdom back to us. What does that mean? It means that one day the earth will be celestialized (See D&C 88), with an exalted family that will live on it, this is the kingdom that he will give back to us. We will then live in his and his Fathers presence. ]

19 Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was diverse from all the others, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth were of iron, and his nails of brass; which devoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet;

20 And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other [ Horn - the anti-Christ. ] which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great things, whose look was more stout than his fellows.

21  I beheld, [ He backs up a little here. ] and the same horn made war with the saints, [ The anti-Christ With his power he will destroy many of the saints of God. Dan 8:24. Rev 13:7; 17:5-6. ] and prevailed against them; [ He will overcome them for a time. This will be the ultimate test I suppose. When we see someone who is acting like a God and seems to have all power. He appears to be God. The test will be will be bow down to him? I suppose that we have an idea of what he will look like, well he will look like and act like that same being that tried to persuade us in the per-mortal realm. He will offer everything if we will bow down to him and him only, we will have a clue however. If that involves giving up our agency then we will know that we are going in the wrong direction. ]

22 Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom. [ So we might say here that until Adam Ondi Ahman happens, when the ancient of days comes we as saints should consider that we will be loosing the battle, or at least it will feel that way. Here we will receive marching orders so to speak as to what needs to happen, were we need to focus our energy for the second coming. This event will give us added strength I think. As of this point going forward Satan will start to loose, and his losses will grow and grow. “Daniel in his seventh chapter speaks of the Ancient of Days; he means the oldest man, our Father Adam, Michael, he [who] will call his children together and hold a council with them to prepare them for the coming of the son of Man. 23 Thus he [ The angel that is showing Daniel this vision. ] said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, [ So we are taught here that each of the beasts then represent a kingdom on earth. ] which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, [ This forth kingdom is just going to be different. It will not be like the others. ] and shall devour the whole earth, [ This kingdom will be worldwide in its scope. ] and shall tread it down, [ This forth kingdom will over take and overcome the entire world and all the worlds population will be subject to it. ] and break it in pieces.

24 And the ten horns [ The ten horns and all are associated with this forth kingdom. See Rev 17:23 for greater scope on what these 10 individuals do. They all get together and give their support over to this beast which represents a new rising world order. ] out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another [ Another horn. ] shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, [ The first ten horns. ] and he shall subdue three kings. [ The three heads talked about in Ezra's Eagle. ]

25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, [ He, the last horn that will destroy the 3 kings. This blasphemous person. The antichrist. ] and shall wear out the saints of the most High, [ The pressure will be always on them and wear them down until they abandon their faith in Christ. This is why even the elect of the covenant will be deceived. This antichrist will be something to which the world has never experienced. ] and think to change times and laws: [ He is going to turn everything upside down. Everything that we think we know will be challenged. The law of gravity? Einstein's theory of relativity - time? World history? How much confusion would be created by showing an alternative version of world history? How many left the church when alternative versions of the Joseph smith story appeared? Everything we have been taught - well; it is not the whole story. This guy will at least appear to have the whole story, so he will be easily believed. I think that maybe the law that he will try to change is the same laws that God established in our premortal life. The law that we are accountable for what we do, that the laws of God are the same forever, there is such a thing as good and bad. Think about where things stand today, the beginning of 2024. They would have you believe that there is no such thing as a biological girl or a biological boy. Right is wrong because they say so and wrong is now right because they say so and the world seems to be believing them. There is no consequence for action, no reason to be moral or righteous according to the worlds view. Is this not the grand plan of satan from the beginning? How does he do this? In 2 Thessalonians 2:10-12 we get an idea. ] and they [ The saints. ] shall be given into his hand until [ Or up to this point in time "until". So this is a demarcation of two periods of time of the antichrists reign. A period when the saints are not in power and then a period when they are in power. See Dan 8:14. Which says that the antichrist will reign on the earth for a period of 2,300 days - or 6 years and 4 months. The time before the "UNTIL" part here would be the remainder ( So if we take 6 years and 4 months we get a total of 76 months of total reign. Now we need to subtract 42 months (time, times and the dividing of time = 42 months) the remainder portion from 76 months we get 34 months - or 2 years and 10 months ). Suggesting that the saints will be under the rule of the antichrist for 2 years and 10 months at which time the ten tribes will be restored and they will drive the antichrist from America to the Holy land. This is referenced when John said that the woman that God lead away in the wilderness would remain in the wilderness until time, time and the dividing of time. At which point she will return. ] a time and times and the dividing of time. [ Time which is 1 year, times is 2 years, and a half is 6 months. So if we add that all up it comes to 42 months. The same period given John in Rev 13:5. We do not know how long he has been doing this to begin with but we do know that there is a period where he is given to be in charge. ]

26 But the judgment shall sit, and they [ God and his people. ] shall take away his [ Satan's. ] dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end. [ The kingdom that Satan has established will be completely overthrown. ]

27 And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, [ God and his saints will rule in mount Zion. The city of Enoch will be joined with the Saints on the earth as well and they will become one kingdom under the direction of Christ. At this point the work of the Father shall commence ( 3 Ne. 21:26). ] whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.

28 Hitherto is the end of the matter. As for me Daniel, my cogitations much troubled me, and my countenance changed in me: but I kept the matter in my heart. [ Daniel suggests that these visions that he saw of the last days were not easy for him to witness. As a matter of fact it appears as if they disturbed him a little. ]
