DEUTERONOMY
CHAPTER 30
Scattered Israel shall be gathered from all nations when they remember the covenant—Moses places life or death, blessing or cursing, before the people.
 AND it shall come to pass, when all these things are come upon thee, [ This is right before the house of Israel is going to enter into the land of Cannan. Moses knows that he is not going to go with them, Moses is going to be translated. So here Moses reminds them that you know the covenants that God has made with us, and you need to remember them. If you go into these lands and you fail to keep your covenants then the Lord is going to scatter you. Then in verse 4 he says but even if you are scattered into the reaches of heaven, somewhere out of this world as if to say, it will not matter because God will still remember the covenants with you and he will gather you back and restore all things to you. ] the blessing and the curse, which I have set before thee, [ The covenants that God has made with them that he will restore Israel in the Last Days. ] and thou shalt call them to mind [ Remember them for yourselves and then remind the nations of the world of those covenants. ] among all the nations, whither the LORD thy God hath driven thee,
 And shalt return unto the LORD thy God, and shalt obey his voice according to all that I command thee this day, thou and thy children, with all thine heart, and with all thy soul;
 That then the LORD thy God will turn thy captivity, and have compassion upon thee, and will return and gather thee from all the nations, whither the LORD thy God hath scattered thee. [ Referring to the first part of the 10th article of faith - the literal gathering of Israel. ]
If any of thine be driven out unto the outmost parts of heaven, [ This is Moses talking to the house of Israel. "outmost parts of heaven? Suggesting from above the earth is where they will return from. Reference to the ten tribes being taken from the earth like the people pf Enoch. So here we have a covenant that God will bring them back when the time is right. There are 3 parts to the house of Israel they are Joseph, Judiah and then the lost tribes of Israel. Israel will be gathered in the reverse order that they were scattered. The 10 tribes were scattered first to the north counties (720 BC), then the Jews were scattered ( Just about the time that Lehi leaves Jerusalem, The first group including Daniel was taken by the Babylons about 5 years before Lehi leaves and then about 5 years after Lehi leaves Babylon over throws Jerusalem. ). Joseph was the first group to be restored with the Americas, the second group was Judah which began in 1948. So at this point we are awaiting the restoration of the lost 10 tribes. ] from thence will the LORD thy God gather thee,[ So we have some that are gathered; or those that were scattered. ] and from thence will he fetch thee: [ Those who were lead away will be fetched, retrieved. Referring to the second part of the 10th article of faith - the restoration of the lost ten tribes. So once his children begin to return to him(this is what the pilgrims wanted in coming to America, this is what Joseph Smith asked, which church is right so that I may follow thee and return to thee). At that point God will begin to gather them from the nations of the earth and from the heavens beyond. Was this not the purpose of God sending Elijah to the earth was to return the people to their promises so they could reap the blessings promised. God knows where they are, and he will be the one to gather them, as they are not lost to him if they have kept their covenants. So in essence God knows full well that they will forsake the covenants here and as a result will be scattered, but he is a loving God and wants to finds ways to bring them back, he will not forsake them if they will return to him and their covenants. ]
 And the LORD thy God will bring thee into the land which thy fathers possessed, and thou shalt possess it; and he will do thee good, and multiply thee above thy fathers.
 And the LORD thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.
 And the LORD thy God will put all these curses upon thine enemies, and on them that hate thee, which persecuted thee.
 And thou shalt return and obey the voice of the LORD, and do all his commandments which I command thee this day.
 And the LORD thy God will make thee plenteous in every work of thine hand, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy land, for good: for the LORD will again rejoice over thee for good, as he rejoiced over thy fathers:
 If thou shalt hearken [ Hebrew "Shema" is translated here as hearken which means to "listen" and "obey". ] unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which are written in this book of the law, and if thou turn unto the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul.
 ¶ For this commandment which I command thee this day, it is not hidden from thee, neither is it far off.
 It is not in heaven, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?
 Neither is it beyond the sea, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?
 But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it.
 ¶ See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil;
 In that I command thee this day to love the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the LORD thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it.
 But if thine heart turn away, so that thou wilt not hear, but shalt be drawn away, and worship other gods, and serve them;
 I denounce unto you this day, that ye shall surely perish, and that ye shall not prolong your days upon the land, whither thou passest over Jordan to go to possess it.
  I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, [ This doesn’t refer simply to the physical heavens and earth but to those who reside in them. Heavenly witnesses to Jehovah’s covenant no doubt include Israel’s ancestors, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and others who would retain the utmost interest in their descendants’ welfare. ] that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:
 That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.
