PSALM 110
A Messianic Psalm of David—Christ shall sit on the Lord’s right hand—He shall be a priest forever after the order of Melchizedek.
A Psalm of David.
1 THE aLORD said unto my Lord, [ Hebrew: Na Um Adonai Ladoni : Thus says the Lord Yahhaven Hashem unto my Lord. Who is David's Lord? David is the king of Israel. So this is messianic psalm talking about the Messiah. ] Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.
2 The LORD shall send the rod [ The scepter representing the Tree of Life. ] of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies.
3 Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth.
4 The LORD hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek. [ Hebrew: Atah Cohen Laolam Al Divrati : Thou art a priest after or upon the order of Melchizedek. How can this be? How can Jesus be a priest when he comes from the tribe of Judah from the lineage of David? Because his priesthood is not an Aaronic priesthood, but rather it is a priesthood after the order of Melchizedek. Who was before Abram who was the King of righteousness, the prince of peace, and a priest of the most high God. The name "Melki" means king in Hebrew. Hebrew Zadok or "Zedek" was the biblical figure who served during the reign of King David and King Solomon as the high priest. His name means righteousness. So, for King David to be anointed and told he is now a priest after the order of Melchizedek, God was telling David that he was not only a priest, but a king of righteousness. ]
5 The Lord at thy right hand shall strike through kings in the day of his wrath.
6 He shall judge among the heathen, he shall fill the places with the dead bodies; he shall wound the heads over many countries.
7 He shall drink of the brook in the way: therefore shall he lift up the head.
