PSALM 76
God is known in Judah and dwells in Zion—He shall save the meek of the earth.
To the chief Musician on Neginoth, A Psalm or song of Asaph.
IN Judah is God known: his name is great in Israel.
In Salem also is his tabernacle, [ So God's tabernacle/temple is found in Salem. This is where Melchizedek is located in Jerusalem. They have found a temple of Melchizedek there. This would be on the way or path that Abraham took from Hebron on his way to Dan in his mission ot rescue his nephew Lot. On the way back Abraham stops in the "kings valley" where he meets the King of Sodom as well as Melchizedek. Abraham meets them in Salem which is todays Jerusalem. Here Abraham is blessed by Melchizedek, and Abraham pays tithes to Melchizedek who is a priest of the God almighty. This portrail gives Jews a little grief as this is at the point where God is giving Abraham his blessings (Gen 14:18-20; JST Gen 14:30) and according to tradition Abraham is becoming the father of nations. Then you have this mystery man show up that they have no information about and he is the one to bless Abraham. They have a tough time trying to figure all of the out. How luck are we to have more of the story here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DtHLItM87Jc @about 11:00 ] and his dwelling place in Zion.
There brake he the arrows of the bow, the shield, and the sword, and the battle. Selah.
Thou art more glorious and excellent than the mountains of prey.
The stouthearted are spoiled, they have slept their sleep: and none of the men of might have found their hands.
At thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, both the chariot and horse are cast into a dead sleep.
Thou, even thou, art to be feared: and who may stand in thy sight when once thou art angry?
Thou didst cause judgment to be heard from heaven; the earth feared, and was still,
When God arose to judgment, to save all the meek of the earth. Selah.
Surely the wrath of man shall praise thee: the remainder of wrath shalt thou restrain.
Vow, and pay unto the LORD your God: let all that be round about him bring presents unto him that ought to be feared.
He shall cut off the spirit of princes: he is terrible to the kings of the earth.
