	PSALM 89

		A Messianic Psalm—A song setting forth the mercy, greatness, justice, and judgment of the Holy One of Israel—David’s seed and throne (through Christ) to be established forever—God’s Firstborn made higher than the kings of the earth.

 I WILL sing of the mercies of the LORD for ever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations.

 For I have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever: thy faithfulness shalt thou establish in the very heavens.

 And the heavens shall praise thy wonders, O LORD: thy faithfulness also in the congregation of the saints.

   For who in the heaven [ Suggesting that this is taking place at the grand council in heaven. ] can be compared unto the LORD? who among the sons of the [ The author is searching for a strong, mighty member of the council, they’re looking for one out of the sons who is strong and mighty, one who can defeat the dragon. (verse 9) ] mighty [ God the Father. ] can be likened unto the LORD?

 God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be had in reverence of all them that are about him.

 O LORD God of hosts, who is a strong LORD like unto thee? or to thy faithfulness round about thee?

   Thou r [ It was Jehovah who was the one who won the battle against the dragon. ] rulest the raging of the sea: when the waves thereof arise, thou stillest them.

 Thou hast broken Rahab [ Or the Leviathan - the great sea monster - satan. "Rahab" literally means “pride” or “arrogance”. ] in pieces, as one that is slain; [ This happened in the war in heaven. ] thou hast scattered thine enemies with thy strong arm.

   The heavens are thine, the earth also is thine: [ Jesus Christ is the creator of the heavens and the earth. This was done after Satan was expelled from the grand council in heaven.(verse 10) Thine here is possessive. This verse is telling us that the earth is Jehovah’s. The earth is his. The earth is Jehovah’s kingdom. The earth is his inheritance. And why? Because he created it. The act of creation provides natural justification for his position as king.(verse 18) ] as for the world and the fulness thereof, thou hast founded [ Founded here of course refers to creating, to creating the earth. So here we learn that Christ after slaying the dragon he creates the earth. And don’t miss the other really, really interesting thing said in this verse about the earth. ] them.

 Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O LORD, in the light of thy countenance.

 For the LORD is our defence; and the Holy One of Israel is our king.
  [ Christ / Jehovah is established as King, and all of this happens in the primordial realm because he slayed the dragon, and there he created the earth. If as a heavenly king, Christ has the power and authority to command the elements, to form a world, what precludes Christ from forming another world? and another world and another world.(Psalms 145:13) ]

 Then thou spakest in vision to thy holy one, and saidst, I have laid help upon one that is mighty; I have exalted one chosen out of the people.

 Nevertheless my lovingkindness will I not utterly take from him, nor suffer my faithfulness to fail.

 Thou hast made void the covenant of thy servant: thou hast profaned his crown by acasting it to the ground.

 What man is he that liveth, and shall not see death? shall he deliver his soul from the hand of the grave? Selah.

 Remember, Lord, the reproach of thy servants; how I do bear in my bosom the reproach of all the mighty people;
